He Is Risen
The first sermon of the new creation is four words long.

The Scene
The women came at first light carrying spices, on their way to finish a burial. What they found was a stone already moved and an angel sitting on it — not guarding the tomb, but sitting on the door of it like a man resting after work.
He does not begin with an explanation. He begins with an absence: He is not here. Then he does something stranger still — he invites them in to look at the empty shelf of rock. Everything the Church has ever said follows from a room with nothing in it.
